First off, I want to thank everyone for their kindness over the last (almost) 2 years. I’ve greatly enjoyed getting to know everyone through our weekly lessons together. You have all been one of the best highlights of my life in Japan. That’s why it is with a heavy heart that I will be returning to America at the end of June, and thus my final day as your teacher at EiEiGo is tomorrow, June 8th.
I moved in May 2021 with the intention to stay a long time. My returning to America is not necessarily a happy one as it means giving up the life I’ve built here. That being said, family is my top priority at the moment. One day I hope to move back to Japan as I feel at home living here.
While I was the teacher, I feel I have learned just as much from all of you, about the Japanese language, culture, the people, etc, as (I hope) you have learned from me.
There are many of you that I have been unable to say goodbye to. And, in not wanting to leave without the chance to do so, there will be a farewell party at EiEiGo on Sunday, June 16th at 5:30pm. It will be a potluck-type so please bring your favorite dish or dessert!
I look forward to one more chance to be able to see and chat with everyone!
