Hello there!
Here are the Discussion Class Topics for Friday The 16th and Sunday the 18th.
-----
Friday the 16th of October: ’Rikejo' Women in Science - The number of Japanese entering the field of science as a career is much lower than other countries. This is not an anomaly and it is not just a low number. There is a serious problem with the culture of Japan, and science in particular that drives away many women from considering science as a viable career for them. We will talk about the reasons and discuss the implications as well as discuss any ways to resolve this imbalance. We will also introduce a secondary discussion regarding Ms. Obokata and how she was portrayed a year ago and how she is portrayed today.

Sunday the 18th of October: A weak yen - All Japanese believe a weak yen is best for Japan's export-driven economy. But some economists believe that Japan would benefit more from a strong yen. What do you think?
